Did Evergrande Default?

Over the last few days the question of Evergrande and whether or not they have defaulted has been widely reported. However there appears to be two conflicting narratives. One says they did. The other more dominant narrative says they narrowly avoided it with a last minute payment. Which was it?

Findings: Uncertain - It appears that at this stage, at least one creditor is filing legal proceedings claiming a default. But there is no official legal determination as of yet.
